With a high backrest and a [spoon-shaped seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evolving-spoon), the furniture designs show just how comfortable such a form can be for the human body. In a way, the Ladle Family series is a tweak on the traditional [egg or bucket chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo-lounge-chair). There is a retro feel about the designs after all. Designed by Luca Nichetto for Arflex, the Ladle Family series is comprised of three different models, each of which boast different backrests and bases. These elements can be mixed and matched for a more customized design. Made out of metal, wood and fabric, the Ladle Family comes in a variety of colors as well. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Spoon-shaped Furniture:** Designing furniture inspired by the shape of serving utensils can provide unique and comfortable seating options. - **Customizable Armchair Design:** Creating armchairs with mix-and-match elements allows for personalized and customized furniture designs. - **Retro-inspired Furniture:** Designing furniture with a retro feel can appeal to consumers who appreciate nostalgic aesthetics. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can explore the design and production of spoon-shaped armchairs for innovative seating options. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate customizable armchair designs into their projects to provide clients with unique and personalized seating solutions. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can offer retro-inspired furniture pieces, such as the Ladle Family armchairs, to cater to consumers seeking nostalgic design elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro-Tinged Elegant Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karakter.md) - [Childhood-Informed Dome Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clodette-chair.md) - [Modern Curvaceous Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burra.md) - [Leftover Textile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sugar-lounge-chair.md) - [Curvaceous Padded Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/talk-chair.md) - [Geometric Flatpacked Wooden Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedia-tonda.md) - [Chunky Cylindrical Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/umi-armchair.md) - [Wooden Foundation Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lounge.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md)
