Featuring a powder-coated steel frame, the chair is adorned with vegetable-tanned leather accents for the seat and the back support. The malleable leather backrest provides enhanced ergonomic support to keep the sitter in the correct position. The [multipurpose design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-stokke-steps) of the Stephen Kenn x Victorinox Stepladder Chair enables it to double as a way to reach items that are up high. When desired, the front portion flips forward to reveal [steps on the underside](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patan-chair) that will likely come in handy for those living in small condos or apartments. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Multipurpose Furniture Designs:** There is a growing need for furniture that serves multiple functions in smaller living spaces. - **Ergonomic Seating Solutions:** As people spend more time working from home in small spaces, there is a need for comfortable seating with ergonomic support. - **Innovative Home Storage Solutions:** As homes become smaller, there is a need for furniture designs that creatively incorporate storage spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can develop furniture designs that incorporate features to serve multiple functions in smaller living spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can create customized design solutions to maximize living space while providing comfort. - **Home Improvement Retail:** Retailers can offer products that creatively incorporate storage and multi-functional features for small living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Dual-Purpose Camping Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-a.md) - [Reimagined Traditional Library Ladders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/step-by-step-ladder.md) - [Contemporary Folding Ladders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scaleo.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Barstools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inheritance-barstool.md) - [Table-Equipped Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/migo-chair.md) - [Pocket-Sized Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-sized-chair.md) - [Storage-Friendly Origami Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kerf.md) - [Recycled Scissor-Like Folding Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauld-chair.md)
