# Eye-Popping Street Art Ladamenrouge's Artwork Gives the Streets Its Own Pair of Eyes By Akihiko Tse | Published 2013-09-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ladamenrouge References: [fatcap.org](http://www.fatcap.org/artiste/ladamenrouge.html) & [ladamenrouge.wix](http://ladamenrouge.wix.com/ladamenrouge) By simply adding eyes -- or "eye bombing" -- to various street installations, French artist Ladamenrouge has been able to create a visceral touch of humor to bring cracked pavements and gray rocks to life. Ladamenrouge, who is based in Saint Etienne, France, calls his work [street art disturbance](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dish-pics), and it's not hard to see why. His latest work, which is called Eye Wilds Shot, features a [large pair of bulging, vein-infused eyes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eye-of-the-future) with wide blue pupils and a white squiggly line drawn underneath in between the eyes to imitate a childish smile on the side of the road. Some of Ladamenrouge's previous work include [invasive street art](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/street-art-installations), where he has transformed various street installations in to provocative images using speech bubbles and stencils. One such work featured a leaning pole with a speech bubble caption, "I have an erection!" painted next to it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Graffiti](https://www.trendhunter.com/graffiti) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eye-bombing Art:** Opportunities for artists to create disruptive street art by adding eyes to inanimate objects and installations. - **Humorous Street Art:** Presents opportunities for artists to create humorous street art that brightens up drab urban landscapes - **Interactive Art:** Interactive opportunities for street artists to engage with the public and encourage interaction with installations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Street Art:** Opportunities for street artists to create innovative installations that disrupt traditional urban landscapes. - **Tourism:** The potential to use street art installations to attract tourists and increase foot traffic in urban areas. - **Advertising:** The opportunity to use street art installations as a unique advertising medium that catches the attention of passersby. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Distorted Furniture Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-kiss-at-last-light.md) - [Bubblegum Street Art Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hubbabubbabuilding.md) - [Interactive Typo Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loveegolov.md) - [Street Art Metaverses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frieze-los-angeles.md) - [Anniversary-Celebrating Pop-Up Stores](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bodyscape-installation.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Surrealist Pop-Up Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surrealist-popup.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md)
