# Lace-Pattern Architecture The XTEN 'Sapphire Gallery' Accommodates Fairy Tale Art By Alexandra Choli | Published 2009-02-23 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lace-patterned-architecture-sapphire-gallery-art-xten-architecture References: [cubeme](http://cubeme.com/blog/2009/01/02/sapphire-gallery-by-xten-architecture/) & [xtenarchitecture](http://www.xtenarchitecture.com/) White, semi-transparent lace walls would definitely be my guess for a quiet habitat in heaven, although the roof and floors would be made out of clouds. [XTEN](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strandhouse) Architecture went as far as humanly possible with the Sapphire Gallery, which stuns with its [fine art facades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-capsule-in-time) and airy atmosphere. The gracefully woven concept is an addition to an existing modern house and aims to embrace the growing [art collection of the residents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-hills-residence) with comparable creativity. Its magnificent structure offers the necessary solar protection to the enclosed art pieces via the lightweight photovoltaic fabric of the façade, while still allowing bright interiors and ample views. Displaying its green qualities, the feathery concept employs noncrystalline solar cells on the inclined roof to harness clean energy while sheltering its valuable contents. Dazzling yet delicate-looking, this design gem forms an invaluable art piece on its own, evoking images of magical abodes. I guess this is the beginning of fairies. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Lace-pattern Architecture:** Lace-pattern architecture is a trend that combines delicate aesthetics with sustainable technologies, offering opportunities for creating visually stunning and eco-friendly buildings. - **Fine Art Facades:** The use of fine art facades in architecture is a trend that allows for the integration of artwork into the design of buildings, opening up possibilities for interactive and immersive experiences for visitors. - **Solar-powered Structures:** Solar-powered structures are a trend in architecture that incorporates photovoltaic technologies to harness clean energy, presenting opportunities for sustainable and self-sufficient buildings. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Architecture industry professionals can explore the trend of lace-pattern architecture and incorporate sustainable technologies into their designs, creating visually appealing and eco-friendly buildings. - **Art:** The art industry can embrace the trend of using fine art facades in architecture to create unique installations that merge art and design, providing immersive experiences for viewers. - **Renewable Energy:** The renewable energy industry can tap into the trend of solar-powered structures to develop innovative photovoltaic solutions for buildings, enabling them to generate clean and sustainable energy. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pavilion-Style Art Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galeria-house.md) - [Woodland Arts Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waterhouseoyama.md) - [Public Pavilion Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tess-pavilion.md) - [Interactive Architectural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-landscape.md) - [Translucent Mesh-Wrapped Art Center](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flickering-peak.md) - [Tea-Honoring Angular Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atelier-xi-2.md) - [Serene Waterfront Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lake-house-life-experience-pavilion.md) - [Reflective Artful Calming Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-gesso.md) - [Rattan Sculptural Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thai-art-gallery.md)
