This new packaging for La Ratte potatoes has been show off by Finland-based potato processing company Tuorekartano Oy to help put a focus on more eco-friendly solutions. The packaging was developed for the brand by Metsä Board and maintains a highly recyclable profile that is also biodegradable to allow consumers to compost it from home. The packaging is suited for direct contact with food, which is further enhanced with a dispersion coating.
CEO of Tuorekartano Oy Kari Kastari commented on the new La Ratte potatoes packaging saying, "Tuorekartano is a company committed to Agenda 2030 and Commitment 2050 and has set itself clear sustainability targets. Plastic-free packaging, such as La Ratte cartons, is part of these goals. We have already reduced the amount of plastic in our packaging materials by 25%.”
