MATTE PROJECTS' La Luna Festival was recently held in New York City as a dance party with a sustainable twist. The festival, originally the Full Moon Festival, has been running for many years now but this year, MATTE PROJECTS decided to reinvent the experience with an eco-friendly focus.

At the event, people could refresh themselves with Ever & Ever [canned water](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wenlock-spring) and fresh filtered water at refill stations provided by Kleen Kanteen. Single-use plastics and straws were replaced with 100% compostable materials at food vendors, helping to cut down on a significant amount of waste.

While La Luna did offer plenty of [fun festival merchandise](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/melo-matcha-x-free-people) for event-goers to purchase, even the shirts were made from [recyclable textile waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/earthytweens).
