# Faux Furniture Appliances The La Cornue W Collection is Chic, Sophisticated and Practical By Meghan Young | Published 2012-04-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cornue-w-collection References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/5900304/this-beautiful-induction-cooktop-table-makes-slaving-over-a-hot-stove-a-pleasure) & [wilmotte.fr](http://www.wilmotte.fr/) The La Cornue W Collection will undoubtedly deceive a few people into believing that it is a set of furniture instead of [kitchen appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smeg-1). The oven looks like a [large cabinet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/large-wonder-oven), the stove like a dining table and, well, the hood just looks like a more stylish version of a traditional hood. Made for [modern homes with a luxurious twist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smeg-x-ovo), this collection is smart and sophisticated. Designed by French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the La Cornue W Collection is as practical as it is beautiful. The Induction Table features four inductors around a central workspace while the matching hood is remote controlled. Both can stand alone or against a wall. The Big Vaulted Oven Tower does have storage both above and below the oven, making its cabinet aesthetic not so ludicrous. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 82% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Furniture-inspired Appliances:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore creating kitchen appliances that seamlessly blend in with furniture, appealing to consumers who prioritize aesthetics in their home design. - **Luxurious Practicality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine high-end design and functionality to create practical home appliances that elevate the overall aesthetic of a living space. - **Smart Home Kitchen Solutions:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop kitchen appliances that incorporate smart technology and remote-controlled features, enabling seamless integration into modern smart homes. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Appliances:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore innovative designs and aesthetics in the home appliance industry to cater to consumers seeking a seamless integration of appliances into their overall home decor. - **Luxury Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create high-end furniture and decor pieces that incorporate practical functionalities, appealing to consumers who value both functionality and luxury in their home. - **Smart Home Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop smart home technology solutions specifically designed for kitchens, offering automation and remote control features to enhance the overall efficiency and convenience of cooking and dining experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elevated Home Cooking Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/claypot-oven.md) - [Convertible Under-Counter Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/signature-kitchen-suite-mantle.md) - [Storage-Equipped Extractor Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/extractor-hood.md) - [Collaboration Brass-Hued Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breville-brass-collection.md) - [Sleek Integrated Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/integrated-kitchen-appliance.md) - [Versatile Modern Appliance Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monogram.md) - [Compact Kitchen Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-kitchen-furniture.md) - [Bauhaus-Inspired Oven Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaggenau-expressive.md) - [Monochromatic Handle-Hiding Ovens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hide-oven.md)
