# Versatile Wire Furniture The Kuji Seat Can Also Act as a Table, Stool and Storage By Meghan Young | Published 2011-10-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kuji-seat References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/kuli-by-felix-haeffner-and-julia-wolf) & [felix.haeffner.info](http://www.felix.haeffner.info/kuli/) The Kuji Seat is a unique piece of furniture that not only looks the part, but acts it as well. This 'seat' is incredibly versatile. It can not only be sat on, things can be stored within and other things can be rested on its surface, that is, when the cushions are conveniently removed. A modern design that works beautifully for small spaces, the Kuji Seat also has a vintage touch thanks to its wire base that makes it look like an oversized basket. Created by young German designers Felix Haeffner and Julia Wolf, the Kuji Seat also boasts rubber, bungee-like cords that effectively hold down cushions and anything else that is rested on top of its surface. Ah, the freedom of choice! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Versatile Furniture:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating furniture that can serve multiple functions and adapt to different spaces. - **Wire Furniture:** Wire-based furniture designs offer a unique aesthetic that can appeal to modern consumers seeking a combination of style and functionality. - **Storage Solutions:** Developing furniture with built-in storage capabilities provides an opportunity for disruptive innovation in organizing small spaces more efficiently. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can explore innovative approaches to create versatile and functional pieces like the Kuji Seat. - **Home Decor:** In the home decor industry, there is potential for disruptive innovation by incorporating wire-based furniture designs that offer a unique and trendy aesthetic. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can explore the use of versatile furniture and storage solutions to optimize space and enhance the functionality of their designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Storage-Centric Minimal Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kurve-furniture.md) - [Storage-Attached Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-chair.md) - [Intuitive Entryway Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-front-stool.md) - [Stackable Cork-Made Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-cork-seating.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Striking Storage-Friendly Poufs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/berliner-pouf.md) - [Modular Table Seatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair.md) - [Modular Upholstered Bright Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster.md)
