# Slatted Bench Seating The Kristoffer Kjaer Hover Bench is a Dutch Delight By Michael Hines | Published 2010-04-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kristoffer-kjaer-hover-bench References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2010/04/02/oh-sucha-simple-bench/) & [hovercollection](http://www.hovercollection.com/) I'm always up for new ideas when it comes to furniture, and the Kristoffer Kjær Hover Bench is right up my alley. This sexy [slatted seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-for-two) surreptitiously surprised me. I am shocked by how simple, yet comfortable this bench looks. Normally I'm not a fan of [sitting on wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/columns), but I think I can make an exception for the Kristoffer Kjær Hover Bench. This bench looks like it could be really [good for your back](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breck-chair), which is good, because my old man back has been acting up recently. I need to see this in a store soon. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Slatted Bench Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop ergonomic slatted bench seating to provide comfortable and supportive seating options for outdoor spaces. - **Simple and Comfortable Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design minimalist and comfortable furniture pieces that combine simplicity with comfort for a modern aesthetic. - **Furniture for Back Support:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create furniture products specifically tailored for back support and comfort to cater to individuals with specific needs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Outdoor Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative slatted bench seating for outdoor furniture market to enhance comfort and style for outdoor spaces. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce simple and comfortable furniture designs to revolutionize interior design industry by focusing on minimalist yet ergonomic products. - **Health and Wellness:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate back support and comfort features into furniture industry to meet the needs of individuals seeking ergonomic solutions for improved health and well-being. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Meditative Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pause-bench.md) - [Sculptural Gravity Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench.md) - [Chic Recycled Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bello-bench.md) - [Repurposed Brick Public Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-public-furniture.md) - [Sustainable Paper-Infused Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/detalji-bench.md) - [Industrial Wrapped Plywood Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-bench.md) - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Paper Cord-Wrapped Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-bench.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md)
