# Retro-Rich Kraków Apartment Colorful Character Defines This Apartment for Expressive Living By Amy Duong | Published 2025-08-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krakw-apartment References: [instagram](https://www.instagram.com/butterflystudiodesign/) [Butterfly](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krakow-apartment) Studio transformed the [retro-inspired Kraków apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kyano) for a young couple seeking vibrant style with timeless functionality. Located in central Kraków and spanning about 80 m², the design embraces [bold pastel palettes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/almaty-family-apartment): pink, teal, burgundy, and playful terrazzo patterns throughout. A sculptural burgundy wardrobe in the entry creates a strong visual anchor, while terrazzo surfaces appear on tiles, tops, and planters for cohesive flair. Custom hallway lighting adds personality, turning everyday circulation into a visual experience. To support a social, flexible lifestyle, the layout eliminates enclosed rooms in favor of open flow. The kitchen centers on a shared table beneath a whimsical ceiling feature that conceals structural changes and a retractable projector. Colorful accents include dark‑pink grout, printed textiles, and graphic rugs that enrich each zone. Thoughtful storage and built-in niches hide clutter—and even accommodate a litter box—without compromising aesthetics. The result is an expressive, functional home where vintage spirit, modern polish, and thoughtful design converge.
