This particular piece is quite simple in form, likely produced with poured concrete into a rigid rectangular mold. After hardening, the monolithic object would have been sanded and polished to to uncover surprisingly [smooth surfaces and an organic texture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nau-design) of air bubbles. A lightbulb is installed at the end of the edge adjacent to its wall mount. The visual effect that the Komat Beton Light creates introduces [beams of shadow above](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impulse-wall-light), adding intrigue to the appearance of a plain wall behind it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Industrial Decor:** Incorporating industrial materials into domestic decor can exude gentleness when finished carefully and fixed amidst warm spaces. - **Organic Texture:** Creating organic textures with industrial materials, like concrete, can add visual interest and intrigue to decor pieces. - **Functional Art:** Making functional art pieces, like the Komat Beton Light, out of industrial materials can create unique and visually striking pieces for decor and lighting. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Companies in the home decor industry can incorporate industrial materials into their designs to create unique and visually striking pieces, like the Komat Beton Light. - **Lighting:** Lighting companies can experiment with industrial materials, like concrete, to create functional art pieces that provide aesthetic beauty and illumination, like the Komat Beton Light. - **Furniture Design:** Furniture design companies can explore unique, industrial materials, like concrete, to create one-of-a-kind pieces that elevate the aesthetic value of interior design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Illusory Brick Wall Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/og-brick-lamp.md) - [Stone-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karim-rashid-kobble.md) - [Functional Illuminated Bricks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/og-brick-light.md) - [Geometric Bar-Like Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/empyrean.md) - [Material-Exploring Industrial-Style Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/industrialstyle-lighting.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Sturdy Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-cement-decor.md) - [Industrial-Inspired Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glassbrick-apartment.md)
