# Deck-Flipping Instruction Apps Download the Know Skateboarding App to Perfect Moves By Omar Yusuf | Published 2011-10-22 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/know-skateboarding References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/5851511/know-skateboarding-will-teach-you-to-kick) & [itunes.apple](http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/know-skateboarding-street/id467535356?mt=8) Because riding a 2x4 plank of wood proves naturally challenging to most people, the Know Skateboarding application for your [iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/melodics-drums) will help iron out the kinks in your [kick-flip technique](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skate-game). Know Projects has been developing how-to websites and applications for quite some time, and has finalized a collaboration with Element Skateboards to help would-be skaters [shred the streets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shred-app) with finesse and attitude. The best members of Team Element, including Mark Appleyard, Levi Brown, Chad Tim Tim and Darrell Stanton, will guide you through each progressively difficult trick. Each video (captured in HD and programmed to allow slow-mo playback) will illustrate how to balance your weight and position your limbs in order to flawlessly land the trick in question. For all the aspiring skaters, heed my advice: Never overestimate your ability, otherwise you might end up in a hospital. Good luck and try the app to improve those moves. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Skateboarding Instruction Apps:** Developing how-to websites and applications, such as Know Skateboarding, to teach aspiring skateboarders can disrupt traditional skateboarding instruction methods. - **Slow-motion Playback Videos:** Creating slow-motion playback videos, as offered through Know Skateboarding, can disrupt traditional sports instruction video formats. - **Collaborations with Professional Athletes:** Partnering with professional athletes, as Know Skateboarding did with Team Element, can disrupt traditional sports instruction by offering access to well-respected industry insiders. ### Who This Affects Most - **Sports Instruction:** Know Skateboarding's instructional app can disrupt traditional skateboarding instruction methods. - **Mobile App Development:** Companies with expertise in developing how-to websites and applications, such as Know Projects, can disrupt traditional sports instruction methods. - **Action Sports:** Collaborations between apps and professional athletes, such as Know Skateboarding's partnership with Team Element, can disrupt traditional sports instruction by offering well-respected industry insiders as guides. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gen Z Skateboarding Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-flips.md) - [Accessible First-Time Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/redo-skateboards.md) - [Smartphone-Connected Planking Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealthgo-plank-trainer.md) - [App-Controlled Skates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appcontrolled-skates.md) - [Motivational Push-Up Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pushup-quest.md) - [Interactive Drum Learning](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/melodics-drums.md) - [Fantasy Skateboarding Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skate-story.md) - [Form-Improving Running Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/runology-app.md) - [Skateboard-Inspired Electric Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bustin-boards-skatex.md)
