# Braided Globe Lights Knotty Bubbles by Lindsey Adelman Will Bring a Bubbly Personality Indoors By Matt Ho | Published 2011-06-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knotty-bubbles References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/knotty-bubbles-by-lindsey-adelman/) & [lindseyadelman](http://lindseyadelman.com/index.php) Lindsey Adelman is known for creating [extravagant contemporary lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-lighting-designs) that tends to have a personality. Her latest work is the [Knotty Bubbles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knotty-pine-cabins) light, which plays on the same theme, but stands out on its own from the other pieces. The Knotty Bubbles light by Lindsey Adelman is a beautifully assembled set of bulbs that are held up by a large rope; instead of branching the lights out, they're more closely tied together. The [crystal-clear globes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light) kind of remind me of old-school lanterns, but more circular and without the rusts of the support structure. What's really cool is how the design kind of brings a navy/sailor vibe due to the large ropes. Knotty Bubbles is a great modern piece that will truly bring out the beauty of any home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Contemporary Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create customizable contemporary lighting fixtures that incorporate unique materials and playful designs. - **Integration of Rope:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative products and designs that incorporate rope as a structural and decorative element to create visually striking and functional pieces. - **Nautical-inspired Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of nautical-inspired home decor that combines aesthetics with functionality to evoke a coastal and maritime feel in interior design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore ways to integrate unconventional materials and unique designs into lighting fixtures to create visually appealing and innovative products for interior and exterior spaces. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design furniture and home decor items that incorporate rope as a key element, bringing a touch of uniqueness and playfulness to interior design. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Experiment with nautical-inspired elements and motifs to create modern and visually captivating interior designs that evoke a sense of maritime adventure and relaxation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Monkey Knot-Integrated Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/small-knot-pendant-lamp.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Ethereal Oil Lamp Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-realm-of-light.md) - [Candy-Colored Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wave-ii.md) - [Whimsical Glass Bubbled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peeka.md) - [Nautical-Inspired Warm LIghting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/booi.md) - [Horizontal Glass Sphere Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant.md) - [Balloon-Like Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-blown.md) - [Bulbous Whimsical Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic.md)
