# Bicycle-Mounted Barbecues This Portable Grill Can Be Attached to Your Bicycle Handlebars By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2018-05-18 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knister-portable-grill References: [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1126809813/knister-grill-the-extendible-bbq-you-can-transport/description) & [knister-grill](http://knister-grill.com/) Everybody loves a good barbecue session especially in the warmer months, but the fact of the matter is that it's not quite practical to lug a full-size barbecue set and charcoals around everywhere you go, which is precisely why Germany-based innovator Carolin Kunert invented a portable grill called the Knister. What's great about this portable grill is that it is designed to be attached securely to your [bicycle handlebars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-handlebar), which makes it the perfect solution if you're looking for a way to take your barbecue to the picnic down the street. The apparatus is compact and lightweight, while cooking is taken care of by a pair of steel grilling racks and a safe spot for your coals. Currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign over on [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cooking-systems), the Knister portable grill is a handy, on-the-go barbecuing solution designed for people who enjoy an active lifestyle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 100% | Activity: 100% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Portable Grills:** The trend for portable outdoor cooking appliances grows, with new opportunities to create innovative and multipurpose designs. - **Active Lifestyle Accessories:** A trend towards active lifestyles creates opportunities for the development of new products and services that cater to this market segment. - **Bicycle Accessories:** The popularity of cycling combined with the trend for on-the-go cooking presents opportunities for the development of bicycle accessories that incorporate portable grills and cooking surfaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Outdoor Recreation:** The outdoor recreation industry can benefit from creating innovative and convenient cooking appliances that enhance camping, hiking, and outdoor activities. - **Sporting Goods:** Sporting goods companies can expand their product line to include accessories that cater to the active lifestyle of cyclists and others who enjoy outdoor activities. - **Bicycle Industry:** Bicycle manufacturers and accessory makers can take advantage of this trend by developing new products that offer a wider range of features and accessories for bicyclists. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multilayer Portable Charcoal Grills](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barbeall-portable-charcoal-grill.md) - [Portable Suitcase-Style Barbecues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yuanye-folding-barbecue.md) - [Suitcase-Style Portable Grills](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomad-portable-charcoal-grill-smoker.md) - [Old-Fashioned Toolbox Grills](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-blaze-charcoal-grill.md) - [Battery-Powered Portable Grill Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nexgrill.md) - [Compact Fan-Equipped BBQs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barbecue-nx-smart-grill.md) - [Slender Off-Grid Barbecues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weber-traveler-portable-gas-grill.md) - [Flatpack Campsite Grills](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-camping-grill.md) - [Communal Outdoor Cooking Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-grill-table.md)
