The construction set includes 607 K'NEX pieces, which may be used to assemble a towering toy ride that stands about four feet tall. Once completed, the Lunar Launch Roller Coaster resembles a rocket ship and features a launcher mechanism that can be stepped on to send the coaster cars hurling around the toy's assembled track. The Thrill Rides line from K'NEX also includes building sets for a variety of other roller coasters and ferris wheels to create a complete amusement park set. All of these toys help to foster in kids what K'NEX calls "STEAMagination"—a combination of science, technology, engineering, the arts and math, plus curiosity and creativity. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **STEAM Education:** The K'NEX Thrill Rides Lunar Launch Roller Coaster promotes STEAMagination by combining science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math in a fun and interactive way. - **Interactive Building Sets:** The construction toy industry is seeing a trend towards interactive building sets like the K'NEX Thrill Rides, which encourage hands-on learning and creativity. - **Amusement Park-inspired Toys:** The popularity of amusement park-themed toys such as roller coasters and ferris wheels is growing, providing opportunities for innovative products and experiences in the toy industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Education:** The educational industry can explore STEAM-oriented toys and tools to enhance learning experiences for children. - **Toy Manufacturing:** The toy manufacturing industry can focus on developing interactive and imaginative building sets that cater to the demand for hands-on play and educational value. - **Amusement Park Industry:** The amusement park industry can collaborate with toy manufacturers to create licensed amusement park-inspired toys, expanding their brand reach and offering unique merchandise for park visitors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Life-Sized Toy Construction Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funphix.md) - [Space Vehicle-Inspired Model Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-technic-nasa.md) - [Space-Inspired Toy Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-collections.md) - [Learning-Focused Robotics Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robots-in-motion.md) - [3-in-1 STEM Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spiral-spring-science-kit.md) - [Nostalgic LEGO Roller Skates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-roller-skate.md) - [Rocket Set Block Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/over-the-moon.md) - [Interactive Windmill Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kullerbu-windmill.md) - [Rechargeable Child Rocket Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/national-geographic-power-rocket.md)
