It's so tiny! The clever mechanics of the carefully crafted escritoire do, however, hide a little surprise inside. The cute wooden carrel can be slid forwards, backwards and open to expose a [lower tray for laptop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapcase), a [shallow cubby for storage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otis-hanger-30), a box where writing utensils can be kept and a lid on which notes and pictures can be stuck. It's quite the elaborate setup considering the [close-packed dimensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humanscale-float-micro). Despite being constructed quite minimally from lumber with a metal frame, Gregor Korolewicz's Klippen Klappen Desk plugs into the wall for power and incorporates a pair of outlets for your assorted workspace devices. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Compact Workspace:** Innovative designs for compact workstations that integrate multiple functionalities to maximize small spaces. - **Smart Furniture:** Integration of technology and power outlets into furniture designs for convenient and functional use in compact spaces. - **Minimalist Office Furniture:** Simplified furniture designs that blend seamlessly into modern workspaces and provide efficient functionality. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunities for furniture manufacturing companies to create highly functional and aesthetic compact workstations. - **Home Office:** Innovations in home office furniture to accommodate remote work and work from home culture. - **Interior Design:** Demand for innovative and functional furniture designs in compact spaces, creating opportunities for interior designers to integrate smart furniture solutions in homes and offices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Saving Foldable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-desk1.md) - [Modular Fold-Out Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-wooden-workstation.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md) - [Fold-Out WFH Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/writing-bureau.md) - [Fold-Down Workstation Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/workspace-furniture-solution.md) - [All-in-One Laptop Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/logitech-casa-popup-desk.md) - [Folding Multifunctional Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ignite-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Paired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diag-desk.md) - [Humorous Quick Cleanup Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-desk-concept.md)
