# Plywood Furnished Eateries Hjghers Kith Cafe Focuses on Simpler Things Such as Company By Meghan Young | Published 2011-02-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kith-cafe References: [trendsnow.net](http://www.trendsnow.net/2011/02/the-kith-cafe-by-hjgher.html) & [hjgher](http://www.hjgher.com/) Forget cardboard, it seems like plywood is the new eco-friendly furniture material that is taking over places such as [Kith Cafe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kith-for-bmw-chapter-iv). With its handcrafted, unfinished look, the eatery becomes a unique place to sit, relax and dine. Designed by Hjgher, the Kith Cafe was inspired by the Japanese film 'Be With You,' which centers around the simple question, "Would you care to have coffee with me sometime?" This simplicity is translated in an unassuming space that forgoes fancy furniture and food to focus on what really matters, company and conversation. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Plywood Furnished:** The use of plywood as an eco-friendly furniture material is a trend that provides an opportunity for businesses to create unique and sustainable spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Cafe and Restaurant:** Cafes and restaurants can embrace the trend of plywood furnishings to create inviting and conversation-friendly environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reclaimed Interior Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onyx-aether.md) - [Cross-Influence Fusion Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/challe-caf.md) - [Sustainable Dine-In Panama Bakeries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krume-bcker.md) - [Artful Plywood Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bla-station.md) - [Beautified Plywood Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plybord.md) - [Waste-Based Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecofriendly-furniture1.md) - [Cat-Focused Wooden Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tristy-of-the-cats.md) - [Minimalist Café Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/12-matcha-caf.md) - [Plywood Furniture Collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/join-collection.md)
