Designed with a screen-free aesthetic, the unit works by [projecting readings onto the countertop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-holodisplay) to ensure they are always easy to read by the user. This enables the device to keep a minimal profile on the counter and prevent the user from having to struggle to analyze the readings when preparing a recipe. The conceptual '+ Kitchen Scale' is the design work of Elisabeth Morris and boasts a [stainless steel and satin-finished pine exterior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-fresher) to keep it as sleek as possible. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Screen-free Kitchen Scales:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop screen-free kitchen scales that project readings onto the countertop for easy visibility and usability. - **Optimizing Food Intake:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create technologies or tools that help consumers optimize their intake of all edibles, such as measuring food accurately with kitchen scales. - **Minimalist Kitchen Gadgets:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce minimalist kitchen gadgets that blend seamlessly into the countertop and enhance user experience, like the screen-free kitchen scale. ### Where This Applies - **Kitchen Appliance Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Drive innovation in kitchen appliances by incorporating projection technology to make them sleek, minimalist, and user-friendly. - **Health and Wellness:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop tools and technologies that target health-conscious consumers and help them optimize their food intake for a healthier lifestyle. - **Home Decor and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine aesthetics with functionality by creating kitchen gadgets with sleek, minimalist designs that complement modern home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Intuitive Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hoto.md) - [Battery-Free Kitchen Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caso-kitchen-ecostyle.md) - [One-Person Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-cooking-appliance.md) - [Elegant Countertop Coffee Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fellow-tally-pro-studio-edition.md) - [Multifunctional Kitchen Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/precision-scale-with-timer.md) - [Minimalist Magnetic Coffee Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laybird-coffee-magattach.md) - [Precision Coffee Dosing Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-coffee-dosing-cup.md) - [Smart-Designed Body Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartdesigned-body-scale.md) - [Skateboard-Inspired Body Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skateboard-scale.md)
