The rail's base takes the unique shape of a hexagon, allowing for a multitude of combinations to be formed. Through the system, users can compose a collection of playful and functional tools for one's living space that best suits their individualized needs, including utensil holders, [shelving units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qurv) and even an adorable hexagonal clock. The modular system comes complete with anything a home owner could wish for, including hooks for dish towels or spatulas, magnetized strips for accessible knife storage and shelving for miscellaneous spices or garnishes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Modular Kitchen Storage:** Modular storage systems that prioritize organization without compromising design are trending across industries, with disruptive innovation opportunities in home accessories and furniture design. - **Hexagonal Design:** Hexagonal designs are being embraced in various industries as a playful and functional design trend, with disruptive innovation opportunities in graphic design, architecture, and product design. - **Multifunctional Spaces:** Designs that maximize the functionality of smaller spaces, such as Hexagon's modular kitchen rail, are gaining popularity and creating disruptive innovation opportunities in home decor and organization industries. ### Where This Applies - **Home Accessories:** Innovative modular storage systems, such as Hexagon's kitchen rail, present disruptive innovation opportunities for home accessories and storage solutions industries. - **Furniture Design:** Modular storage and playful designs, such as the hexagonal shape used in Hexagon's kitchen rail, present disruptive innovation opportunities for the furniture and home decor industries. - **Kitchenware:** Modular storage and playful designs, such as the hexagonal shape used in Hexagon's kitchen rail, present disruptive innovation opportunities in the kitchenware industry for product design and organizational solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Conscious Kitchen Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-kitchen-design.md) - [Magnetic Desk Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexagon-board-game-trays.md) - [Vibrant Organizational Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorful-pegboard.md) - [Sandbox-Like Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet1.md) - [Adaptable Organizer Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-square-organizer.md) - [Tiled Gridded Kitchen Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dancing-grid.md) - [Modular Magnetic Wall Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-organizer-concept.md) - [Sustainable Kitchen Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/legni-collection.md) - [Colorful Modular Storage Sysem](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/center-center-storage.md)
