# Timber Tablet Docks The Handsome Kinodai Gadget Hub Holds Your Handsets While They Charge By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-10-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinodai References: [likecool](http://www.likecool.com/Kinodai--Apple--Gear.html) & [takashikirimoto](http://www.takashikirimoto.com/works_index.html) The Kinodai might first appear to be low-tech, but turn it upside-down and you'll find that it's quite receptive to contemporary technology. The object isn't simply an organizer for your devices, it's a really charming handset holder that functions as a charging hub. Three lovely layers of pale wood go into manufacturing Takashi Kirimoto's piece. The subtle but visible wood grain pattern gives it a really pleasant appearance, and four slots arranged on angles give the look of casual tidiness when they're filled. The two large slits are for [iPads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maghub-3) and the smaller ones are for a pair of smartphones. With the bases of your gadgets fed through these gaps, it's easy to connect their cables. These can be threaded through a hole in the bottom and plugged into the wall; otherwise, the wires can be wound up and hidden underneath the Kinodai. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Natural Gadget Accessories:** The trend of using natural materials in gadget accessories, such as wooden docks, allows for an eco-friendly and stylish solution for tech storage and charging. - **Multi-device Charging Hubs:** As people continue to accumulate multiple devices, the need for charging solutions such as Kinodai's multi-device charging hub will become increasingly popular and in-demand. - **Sustainable Home Decor:** The Kinodai dock combines a functional charging hub with a stylish and sustainable home decor piece, presenting opportunities for similar sustainable and multi-functional home decor innovations. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies could capitalize on the trend of sustainable and multi-functional decor by creating more pieces like Kinodai that combine form and function with eco-conscious materials. - **Gadget Accessories:** Companies in the gadget accessories industry can create multi-device charging hubs made from eco-friendly materials to cater to consumers looking for sustainable options for their tech storage and charging needs. - **Eco-friendly Tech:** As consumers become more environmentally conscious, there is a growing demand for eco-friendly tech products, which presents an opportunity for companies to create more sustainable and stylish tech solutions like Kinodai's dock. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Timber Technology Power Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-charging-station.md) - [Outlet-Mounted Device Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tech-charger-dock.md) - [Three-in-One Tablet Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kolude-stand.md) - [Floating Monitor-Mounted Tech Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/line-linestand.md) - [Illuminated Tech Dock Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanoleaf-pegboard-desk-dock.md) - [Decorative Device Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tricharge-wireless-charger-concept.md) - [Timber Smartwatch Charging Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charging-apple-watch-stand.md) - [Minimalist Tech-Friendly Valet Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holme-hadfield-the-hub.md) - [Timber Clamp-Equipped Smartphone Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iphone-desk-shelf-mount.md)
