# Dish-Washing Light Fixtures Kim Joonmin Designs a Combination Dishwasher-Chandelier for Electrolux By Michael Hines | Published 2011-05-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kim-joonmin References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/05/17/new-meaning-to-light-washes/) Designer Kim Joonmin has designed a multifunctional dishwasher for appliance maker [Electrolux](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-appliance-hub) that acts as both a [hanging light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier) and a dishwasher. The creative concept hangs from the ceiling and features touch controls. The dishwasher light would make setting the table and drying dishes easy as all of your tableware would be conveniently located above your dining room table and can be air-dried at any time. I am not one to get too excited over appliance concepts, but I actually think that there is something to Joonmin's design. The concept itself doesn't seem too hard to produce with today's technology and it would make doing the dishes and setting the table easier, which means dinner can be served faster. Conventional dishwashers and chandeliers, your days are numbered. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multifunctional Appliances:** Creating appliances that serve multiple purposes, such as combining a dishwasher with a hanging light fixture. - **Convenient Tableware Storage:** Designing dishwashers that hang from the ceiling to conveniently store tableware above the dining room table. - **Touch Control Technology:** Integrating touch controls into dishwashers to provide a user-friendly interface for easier operation. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Appliance Manufacturing:** Opportunity to innovate and produce multifunctional appliances that enhance convenience and functionality. - **Lighting Design:** Exploring the combination of lighting fixtures with other household appliances to create unique and space-saving designs. - **Kitchenware and Tableware:** Developing innovative storage solutions for tableware to optimize space and improve accessibility. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Ergonomic Kitchen Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fotile-x20-max.md) - [Entry-Level Countertop Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bugu-dishwasher.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Steam-Powered Dishwasher Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-steam-cleaner.md) - [Sterilizing Countertop Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karlxtom-countertop-dishwasher.md) - [Sleek Large-Capacity Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haier-1.md) - [Countertop Crockery Sanitizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/utensil-disinfection-cabinet.md) - [Stealthy Miniature Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mycup.md)
