# White Scandinavian Apartments This Kiev Apartment Features a Layout Free From Clutter By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-11-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kiev-apartment References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/apartment-birds-olena-yudina/) & [news.geliyoo](http://news.geliyoo.com/default/apartment-with-the-birds-by-olena-yudina) Olena Yudina conceived of this 124-square-meter [Kiev apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirzoyan-studio) as two separate zones: one public, one private. Yudina opted for a circular layout to optimize for space and avoid a plan cluttered with unnecessary corridors. The majority of the apartment features a [stark white color palette](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grigio-verde), including white wooden floors. The kitchen is an exception, featuring soft grey tiles. Despite the lack of color, the apartment manages to be warm and inviting. This can be partially attributed to the scattering of green plans throughout. The green looks bright and lively against the white. The materials are tied together by [white brickwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glassbrick-apartment), which appears in every room of the home, adding a level of consistency to the space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Circular Layout Optimization:** Opportunities for implementing circular layouts in various spaces to maximize efficiency and minimize clutter. - **Stark White Color Palette:** Exploring the use of all-white color schemes to create a clean and inviting atmosphere. - **Green Plants as Accents:** Incorporating green plants as vibrant accents to add warmth and life to minimalistic spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in designing innovative layouts and color schemes for residential and commercial spaces. - **Sustainable Architecture:** Exploring sustainable materials and features in designing eco-friendly living spaces. - **Home Decor and Furnishings:** Opportunities for creating and marketing minimalistic and eco-friendly furniture and home decor products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Minimal Lviv Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/km-home.md) - [Vibrant Palette Experimental Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2bm-apartment.md) - [Compact Living Bright Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-ann.md) - [Ultra-Slick Modern Apartment Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-apartment-interior.md) - [Surreal Kyiv Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-with-a-lizard.md) - [Redesigned Curved Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taichung-apartment.md) - [Fruit-Inspired Tonal Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oksana-dolgopiatova.md) - [Ukranian All-Beige Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allbeige-home.md) - [Mid-Century Flat Revamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warsaw-apartment-renovation.md)
