# Youthful Film Flashback Blogs The 'Kid Casting' Tumblr Shows Characters as Children By Marie | Published 2011-09-22 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kid-casting-tumblr References: [booooooom](http://www.booooooom.com/2011/09/21/kid-casting-tumblr/) & [kidcasting.tumblr](http://kidcasting.tumblr.com/archive) I've always found it interesting to see which [child actors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petit-filous-mischief-makes-us) are picked to play the roles of film and TV stars during flashback scenes, and the 'Kid Casting' [Tumblr](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumblr-campaign) proves I'm not the only one with this insatiable curiosity. The blog is dedicated to collecting screenshots from [movies and TV shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/film-finder), showing both the original actor and the lucky kid in the younger role. From episodes of 30 Rock that show Tina Fey as a young, awkward girl, to scarier comparisons like that of Angelina Jolie's character in 'Salt,' the blog acts as a reference guide to all your fave child actor pairings. One of my personal favorites is the Larry David young actor casting for 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' which shows the star as a lanky, curly haired ginger. Check out the 'Kid Casting' Tumblr for a laugh, and pick out your favorite pairs. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Child Actor Pairings:** A trend of comparing young child actors to the original actor in flashback scenes of TV shows and movies can create opportunities for the film industry to bring teenage actors to cast more for the role of young characters. - **Young Actor Casting:** The trend of young actor casting can bring a new wave of talent to Hollywood and provide young actors opportunities to showcase their abilities. - **Nostalgia Watch:** The trend of nostalgia watch through kid casting blogs can offer licensed TV networks and streaming services an opportunity to resurrect or reboot former hit shows. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Film Industry:** The film industry can benefit from exploring casting more child actors and teenage actors in young character roles to tap into a wider range of fresh and new talent. - **Television Industry:** TV networks and streaming services can take advantage of the trend by greenlighting more shows that incorporate young actors in their stories. - **Social Media Industry:** Social media platforms can monitor and track the trend to capitalize on user-generated content and create communities around viral content related to childhood throwbacks and nostalgic memories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tween-Targeted Weekly News Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-stop-news.md) - [Kid-Designed Travel Itineraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/visit-anaheim.md) - [Animal Casting Directories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animalsfilm.md) - [Nostalgic Fashion Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throwback-collection.md) - [Eerie Film-Inspired Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afterlife-generator.md) - [Cinematic Quote Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/screenflick.md) - [Film-Themed Cookbooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scrounging-cookbook.md) - [Kid-Friendly Streaming Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parental-watchlists.md) - [Doll Line Talent Castings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/far-out-toys.md)
