# Playground-Inspired Living Rooms Ki Design Studio Incorporates a Slide in a Modern Home Design By Meghan Young | Published 2016-01-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ki-design-studio References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2016/01/20/this-apartment-interior-was-designed-with-a-slide-into-the-living-room/) & [kidesign.ua](http://www.kidesign.com.ua/) Ki Design Studio might not be the first to install a slide in a living room setting, but they have done it in a noteworthy fashion. Complementing the overall [warm yet airy home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/child-studio-1) with a metal slide in place of traditional stairs, it's interesting to see the juxtaposition of [sophistication and playfulness](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collection-co). Although it's not clear whether this is a family home, Contemporist writes, "Their clients explained that they wanted an apartment where they could rest, but not get bored with the design in a year or so, and that it had to have something special and ‘wow’ their guests." With this direction in mind, it was only natural for Ki Design Studio to introduce a slide into the mix. Guests will not only be wowed, but also never want to leave. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Playful Home Design:** Incorporating playful elements such as slides and swings into home design can create a unique and memorable experience. - **Kid-friendly Interiors:** Designing interiors with playful elements that appeal to both adults and children can create a versatile living space. - **Juxtaposing Sophistication and Playfulness:** Combining sophisticated design elements with playful ones can create a unique and visually striking aesthetic. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Designers and architects can innovate by incorporating playful elements into their designs to create unique and memorable living spaces. - **Real Estate:** Developers can appeal to buyers and renters by incorporating playful and unique design elements into their properties. - **Hospitality:** Hotels and resorts can differentiate themselves by incorporating playful and visually striking design elements to create a memorable and delightful guest experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful-Focused Polish Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/znamy-si.md) - [Nature-Inspired Indoor Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sarit-shani-hay.md) - [Playful Apartment Makeovers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onda-apartment.md) - [Contemporary Playroom Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/randle-wall-climbing-handle.md) - [Elevated Leisure Habitats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-leisure-habitat.md) - [Modern-Updated Traditional Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skip-house.md) - [Climbing Wall-Integrated Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/musa-apartment.md) - [Abstract Colorfully Vibrant Playscapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wired-scape.md) - [Transforming Imaginative Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kiddie-couch.md)
