# Timber-Slatted Summer Homes Kget Has a Spectacular Balcony Overlooking the Meditteranean By Joey Haar | Published 2017-07-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kget References: [archdaily](http://www.archdaily.com/876004/kget-bonte-and-migozzi-architectes) Built at the top of a [seaside cliff](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monterey-home), Kget, a [family summer home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hors) in Ensuès-la-Redonne, France, offers a tremendous vista. The home is designed to maximize the views onto the Mediterranean Sea, with several jutting extensions from the interior and a balcony that provides a wraparound spectrum. The home was built by 'bonte & migozzi architectes', and the studio took inspiration from the historic stories that are set in the region. In particular, it is inspired by Ulysses and his ship. As such, and because of its status as a cottage, the home is built with [bare timber slats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timber-residence). Nestled among pine trees, the timber lends the home a natural quality that keeps it from interfering with the peaceful environment that its inhabitants hope to achieve while there. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Timber-slatted Summer Homes:** Using timber slats in the design of summer homes provides a natural and peaceful aesthetic. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture and Design:** Architects and designers can explore using timber slats in their summer home designs to create a connection with nature. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Timber-Clad Canadian Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cime.md) - [Off-Grid Oceanside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/campos-studio.md) - [Coastal Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornwall-retreat.md) - [Harmonious Modern Wooden Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mot22.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md) - [Coastal Timber Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-guaec-project.md) - [Textural Greek Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/southwand-house.md) - [Coastal Courtyard Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patio-house-residence.md) - [Coastal Island Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasparakisfriel.md)
