The keyboard maintains a [tenkeyless (TKL) design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/v60-pro-deluxe-edition), but can be paired with a number pad for those who require it to complete various tasks. The unit can also be paired with a trackpad, which further reinforces the modular nature of the peripheral. This would eliminate the need for a traditional mouse to further save space on a desktop. The modular keyboard concept maintains a see-through construction that highlights an almost [cyberpunk aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keysme-lunar-02) for users to admire. The keyboard positions the function keys and additional toggles into the area right below the space bar to further streamline access. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Keyboard Peripherals:** The modular keyboard design trend is disrupting the traditional keyboard market, offering enhanced workflow and space-saving solutions for professionals and users alike. - **Tenkeyless Keyboards:** The tenkeyless keyboard trend is disrupting the traditional full-size keyboard market, offering enhanced mobility and compact design options for professionals and users alike. - **See-through Keyboard Design:** The see-through keyboard design trend is disrupting the traditional opaque keyboard market, offering a unique cyberpunk aesthetic and visual appeal for users. ### Who This Affects Most - **Computer Hardware Industry:** The computer hardware industry has an opportunity to capitalize on the modular keyboard trend and offer new space-saving and customizable solutions for professionals and users alike. - **Gaming Industry:** The gaming industry has an opportunity to capitalize on the tenkeyless keyboard trend and offer enhanced mobility and compact design options for gamers on-the-go. - **Fashion-tech Industry:** The fashion-tech industry has an opportunity to capitalize on the see-through keyboard design trend and offer unique and visually appealing accessories for style-conscious consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Modular Keyboard Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-keyboard-1.md) - [Modular Hexagonal Cap Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kbird-spec-project.md) - [Touch Interface Keyboard Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touch-keyboard.md) - [Creative Modular Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-louder.md) - [Modular Mechanical Keyboard Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naya-connect-keyboard.md) - [Customizable Creative Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-macro-keyboard-system.md) - [Customizable Two-Part Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naya-create-keyboard.md) - [Sleek Workflow-Enhancing Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knob-1-keyboard.md) - [Multifunctional Hidden Display Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scroom-keyboard.md)
