# Bunny-Holding Sci-Fi Figures Kerry Kerrigan Inserts Rabbits into Star Wars Character Portraits By Jason Soy | Published 2011-11-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kerry-kerrigan References: [blog.thaeger](http://blog.thaeger.com/2011/11/15/star-wars-bunny-love/) & [kellykerrigan.blogspot](http://kellykerrigan.blogspot.com/) Everything surrounding these Kerry Kerrigan paintings is absolutely hilarious. First of all, I find it hard to comprehend why bounty hunter Bobba Fett, a Stormtrooper and a Crimson Guard would ever find the need to pose for a portrait, let alone one in front of those horribly cheesy '80s laser backdrops used during photo taking sessions. Then, to up the absurdity of it all, Kerrigan places an [adorable and well-rendered bunny rabbit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/topps-i-love-bunnies) into the hands of these dangerous men to hold for the final picture. The randomness of it all would make even the writers of Family Guy blush, but that's exactly what makes these paintings so awesome. If these particular [Star Wars-inspired illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-collection-2) just aren't doing it for you, Kerry Kerrigan also paints colorful birds dressed up as memorable movie characters like Marty McFly. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Humorous Character Portraits:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of comedic artwork featuring unexpected subjects and settings. - **Cross-species Mashups:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop products or artwork that combine different animal species. - **Pop Culture Animal Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a collection of artwork featuring animals dressed as famous characters from movies and TV. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore unconventional and humorous approaches to traditional artwork. - **Merchandise and Licensing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop unique products that merge pop culture and animals in unexpected ways. - **Entertainment and Media:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate cross-species mashups into movies, TV shows, and online content for added humor and creativity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hand-Knit Sci-Fi Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handknit-scifi-sculpture.md) - [Sci-Fi-Themed Miniature Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/book-of-boba-fett-1.md) - [Plastic Sci-Fi Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artfx-boba-fett.md) - [Painterly Chocolate Bunny Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solid-chocolate-bunnies.md) - [Designer Pop Culture Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kkplus.md) - [Sci-Fi-Themed Donut Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinkbox-doughnuts-star-wars-day.md) - [Soup-Themed Bunny Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kidrobot-2.md) - [Movie-Themed Art NFTs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cheeky-kyser.md) - [Collectible Character Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arr-x-kaws-sesame-street.md)
