# Silver-Coated Tables Kenji Fukushima Creates the Mirror Table By Jamie Danielle Munro | Published 2014-05-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kenji-fukushima References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/design/kenji-fukushima-design-mirror-table-silver-surface-05-20-2014/) & [kenjifukushima](http://www.kenjifukushima.com/) Kenji Fukushima has created the Mirror Table, which features a [silver coating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bton-brut) to give the design an opulent look. According to DesignBoom, "the lines are intricately positioned, similar to those used in decorative glass as a reinterpretation of the wide chamfer seen in mirror manufacturing, bringing it to the edges of the table." This detailing helps to elevate the table from a regular piece of furniture to something that could be placed in a higher end hotel room. The design also comes in two separate shapes, one being a [coffee table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharp-table) closer to the ground, and the other that looks similar to a stool, but could also be used for a [side table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-table). Kenji Fukushima did a great job turning a regular piece of furniture into an intricate design with just a few added details.
