Boy by [Band of Outsiders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jacksontriggs-niagara-estate-amphitheatre)’ designer Scott Sternberg has found inspiration for his Pre-Fall 2012 collection in Diane Keaton’s wardrobe from Woody Allen’s 1979 film Manhattan.

Although Sternberg is LA-based, Keaton’s character Mary’s wardrobe is all about 1970s New York City, and that is apparent in the collection.

While her wardrobe in Manhattan is a bit of a subdued version of her own fashion sense, it serves well as the inspiration for the Boy by Band of Outsiders [pre-fall 2012 collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prefall-2026-collection).

Keaton’s personal style has long been inspiring, but her style in the 70s in particular continues to inspire fashionistas everywhere attempting to tackle the [menswear look](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintage-styles), with Annie Hall becoming almost synonymous with the chic, tomboy look that truly is timeless.
