Shape-shifting and imperfect, the Tsubomi Paper Lamps alter their contours depending on how the vacuum-sealed packs they come in are opened. Constructed with plastic compounds, these lamps feature [textured paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akari-lamp), embracing the natural crinkles of the material as it is set free from its compact packaging. Staying true to the designer’s roots, Kazuhiro Yamanaka imitates the aesthetics of traditional Japanese design, intertwining shoji screens into the elements of the Tsubomi Paper Lamps. Likewise, the avant-garde lamps repurpose spaces with a minimalistic theme at the heart of defining rooms. Moreover, the deliberate use of lamps that are not only ‘imperfect,’ but come in neutral colors such as plain white, and red or grey crisscross patterns form subtle statements that are sure to leave an impression.
