EXPANDED HOLIDAY features 12 augmented reality versions of the 'Companions' [KAWS](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kaws-holiday-thailand) installation. The sculptures are a virtual continuation of the popular artist's [large-scale inflatable travelling series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iwagumi-air-scape). In addition, the digital release has been tailored to meet the climate of the COVID-19 pandemic.

EXPANDED HOLIDAY was made possible through a collaboration with digital art platform [Acute](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-sensor1) Art. Users can enjoy the experience in 11 cities across the globe through the Acute Art mobile application.

While originally, the collaboration was going to offer subscription-based editions of the KAWS installations for $7 per week or $30 per month, as well as "25 limited-edition sculptures for permanent acquisition for $10,000 each," this has been delayed. Instead, Acute Art and KAWS made the 'Companions' virtual sculptures free until April 15th to encourage people to stay home.
