The show announced Katy Perry as the winner of the international song of the year award for her lesbianlicious “I Kissed a Girl” and she went to the podium and received the award. However, towards the end of the show the host announced that there was a mistake in counting the votes (people have been voting at NRJ’s website for a few weeks leading to the event) and that the actual winner was Rihanna for “Disturbia.” Thankfully, Katy Perry did not go home empty-handed.
