Italian furniture company [Kartell](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-lite-chair) is releasing this beautiful collection of chairs that are made out of a single piece of polycarbonate material. The collection of chairs, armchairs and sofas are designed by Philippe Starck.

The 'Uncle Jack' sofa is probably the outstanding piece of the collection. Consisting of just a single piece of polycarbonate, this elegant hard sofa has a seating surface measure of 1.9 meters and weighs 30 kilograms. It is the largest [single-mould polycarbonate sofa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panton-chair) in the world. Then there's the 'Uncle Jim' armchair that features an elegant and comfortable high back, and 'Uncle Joe', a small armchair.

Designer Philippe Strack says these Kartell chairs are "the technological, minimalistic versions of the armchairs and sofas used by my uncle and aunt smoking a pipe or knitting close to a fire in the evening, serenely.”
