This fun product is being released just in time for the start of the school year, and is perfect for helping to prep lunches. The Karoto looks just like a standard black (also available in orange) [pencil sharpener](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-pencils), but instead of sharpening your pencils and pencil crayons, it will peel your veggies with ease. Just stick a [carrot, cucumber of zucchini](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolthouse-fresh-foods) inside, or any veggie that has the same shape, and you'll be done prepping your veggies in a flash. It's available from Monkey Business and can be ordered off its site. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Vegetable Peeling Gadgets:** The trend of kitchen gadgets designed to simplify vegetable peeling and food prep, like the Karoto Giant Pencil Sharpener. - **Fun and Functional Kitchen Tools:** The trend of kitchen tools that combine fun and functionality, like the Karoto Giant Pencil Sharpener. - **Novelty School Supplies:** The trend of novelty school supplies for kids and adults alike, like the Karoto Giant Pencil Sharpener. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Kitchenware:** The kitchenware industry can capitalize on the trend of vegetable peeling gadgets like the Karoto Giant Pencil Sharpener. - **School Supplies:** The school supplies industry can capitalize on the trend of novelty school supplies like the Karoto Giant Pencil Sharpener. - **Gifts and Novelties:** The gifts and novelties industry should take advantage of the trend of fun and functional kitchen tools like the Karoto Giant Pencil Sharpener. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Electric Pencil Sharpener](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-pencil-sharpener.md) - [Ultra-Fast Slicing Kitchen Helpers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stormcut.md) - [Stainless Steel Kitchen Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caraway-kitchen-gadget.md) - [Self-Sharpening Coloring Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinity-colouring-pencils.md) - [Manual Food Processors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manual-food-processor.md) - [Stainless Steel Kitchen Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caraway-kitchen-gadgets.md) - [Vertical Pencil Sharpening Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pencil-sharpener-1.md) - [Mini Handheld Graters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palm-grater.md) - [Pencil Shaving-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharpener-lampshades.md)
