# Life-Size Paper Sculptures Karen Sargsyan Creates Impressive Work That's Full of Movement By Meghan Young | Published 2009-12-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karen-sargsyan References: [todayandtomorrow.net](http://www.todayandtomorrow.net/2009/12/16/karen-sargsyan/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:) & [karensargsyan.web-log.nl](http://www.karensargsyan.web-log.nl/) Although there has been quite a few paper creations featured on Trend Hunter, I don’t think we’ve seen anything remotely like Karen Sargsyan’s sculptures. The first image looks as though there’s an actual person in there. Alas, there is not. Unfortunately, I cannot relay much information about Karen Sargsyan as a person as her site is not available in English, but her work is more important, anyhow. So enjoy the gallery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Life-size Paper Sculptures:** Innovative use of paper as medium for creating life-size sculptures inspires new ways of artistic expression. - **Hyperrealistic Creations:** Increasing trend of creating hyperrealistic sculptures blurs the line between reality and art. - **Sustainable Art:** Growing trend of using eco-friendly and sustainable materials to create art brings focus on environmental issues. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art Industry:** Innovative techniques for creating sculptures can revolutionize the art industry by encouraging new forms of creativity. - **Paper Industry:** Greater demand for high-quality paper for artistic creations presents an opportunity for growth in the paper industry. - **Sustainability Industry:** Use of sustainable materials for artistic creations can create new business opportunities for the sustainability industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Human Torso-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lene-bdker.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Folded Paper Figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clara-von-zweibergk.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Performance Art Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-pop.md)
