# Contemporary Snow Queen Canopies Karako Bedroom Interior Harkens to Bygone Boudoirs By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-06-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karako-bedroom-interior References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/fit-for-a-king-modern-castle-inspired-master-bed-canopy/) & [karako.by](http://www.karako.by/project_6_eng.html) As incredibly contemporary as the [latticed canopy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piloti-canopy) looks, this Karako bedroom interior is very much inspired by themes of the past. Throwing back as far as biblical times, the domestic project is called "The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil," in reference to the story of Adam and Eve. The [branch-like awning](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/centro-de-arte-moderna-gulbenkian) begins as a headboard and covers the bed with a web of angular trelliswork. It's as if the sleeper lies beneath that fateful bough bearing that ominous apple. Fast forward in history about 1500 years, and many parallels can be drawn between this all-encompassing frame and the [royal canopy beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/millo-restaurant) of the Renaissance. Exuding a modern aesthetic with a crisp whitewash and abstract geometries, the Karako bedroom interior certainly builds on forms of the past. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Contemporary Snow Queen Canopies:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Design and create modern canopy beds that blend contemporary aesthetics with historical influences. - **Latticed Canopy:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Develop innovative materials and manufacturing techniques to create lightweight, durable, and customizable lattice structures for canopies. - **Abstract Geometries:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Combine traditional and abstract design elements to create unique and visually striking bedroom interiors. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Rethink traditional approaches to bedroom design, incorporating historical references and contemporary aesthetics. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Develop advanced manufacturing processes and materials to create intricate and customizable canopy beds. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Introduce innovative and artistic patterns, materials, and accessories for canopy beds that cater to modern tastes and preferences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wooden Structural Outdoor Bedes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hut-lounge-bed.md) - [Chic Curved Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedroom-furniture.md) - [Vienna Straw Headboard Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiko-wien-bed.md) - [Elegant Exterior Lounge Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lounge-bed.md) - [Textile Igloo Bedrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takk.md) - [Hidden Garden Timber Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-room-around-a-tree.md) - [Blue Floating Bed Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bed-frame.md) - [Fairytale-Inspired Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circu-mr-bunny-bed.md) - [Beachside Modern Daybed Setups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contour-daybed.md)
