The Kaphar concept does just that. This shade is a two-sided bench that has a [flower shaped shade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flore) that blooms to greet visitors. This polite [public bench](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench) resembles an unbloomed flower when not in use and opens up when a user sits on the bench. The structure itself is flexible yet [durable to withstand different weather conditions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-bench). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Interactive Outdoor Furniture:** Opportunity for innovative outdoor furniture designs that engage and interact with users. - **Multi-functional Shading Solutions:** Opportunity to develop shading solutions that serve multiple purposes, such as providing shade and aesthetic appeal. - **Responsive Urban Spaces:** Opportunity to create urban spaces that adapt to the needs and preferences of users, enhancing the overall experience. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity lies in incorporating interactive and multi-functional features into outdoor furniture designs. - **Architecture and Urban Planning:** Opportunity to integrate responsive shading solutions and flexible urban spaces in design projects. - **Smart City Technology:** Opportunity to leverage technology to create intelligent urban spaces that enhance user comfort and engagement. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rotating Solar-Powered Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-solarpowered-bench-that-spins-ever-so-slowly.md) - [Interaction-Promoting Public Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-seating.md) - [Urban Solar Charging Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perovia.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Naturalistic Public Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-ark-outdoor-seat.md) - [Tree-Intertwined Metal Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tenir-bench.md) - [Adaptive Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adp-bench.md) - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Traffic Light-Inspired Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traffic-light-bench.md)
