Creator Takeshi Sawada, in hopes of letting children have more fun while coloring, created this [naked bird pencil holder](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dumpstuder-pencil-holders). The peacock is made of [beech wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crayon-pine). It has 13 holes on its back where its colorful feathers -- colored pencils -- are inserted. It is a great example of functional desk toppers that are also aesthetically pleasing. It plays around with the functionality of both items; the colored pencils become necessary to complete a work of art, while the bird itself is home to coloring tools. Creator Takeshi is known for his humorous and creative approaches to furniture and object designs. He has other animal-resembling furnishings, like his renowned Bambi chair. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 20% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Interactive Desk Accessories:** Creating products that require user interaction, such as inserting colorful pencil crayons, enhances the user experience and adds an element of fun. - **Multifunctional Design:** Combining the functionality of two or more items, such as a pencil holder and a decorative peacock, offers innovative and space-saving solutions. - **Creative Furniture Design:** Exploring unique and whimsical designs, like animal-resembling furnishings, adds artistic value to everyday objects. ### Who This Affects Most - **Office Supplies:** Integrating interactive features into traditional office supplies can transform ordinary items into engaging tools for productivity. - **Home Decor:** Creating multifunctional and visually appealing home decor products allows consumers to express their personal style while optimizing space. - **Furniture Design:** Pushing the boundaries of furniture design with creative and innovative concepts, like animal-inspired pieces, can offer unique and captivating options for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Avian-Inspired Privacy Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peacock-chair-concept.md) - [Vibrant Outdoor Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metal-peacock-garden-bench.md) - [Recycled Plastic Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mechanical-drop-pencil.md) - [Clothespin-Inspired Mechanical Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pentapa.md) - [Home Exterior Nesting Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/numbird.md) - [Organized Minimal Pen Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stilo75-pen-holder.md) - [Vibrant Bird-Inspired Artful Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macar-parrot.md) - [Off-Kilter Desktop Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concept-pen-holder.md) - [Wood-Crafted Eco-Friendly Crayons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-crayon.md)
