# Metal Petal Pendant Lamps The Kakabel Light Embodies a Futuristic Flower-Like Quality By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-11-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kakabel-light References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/Kakabel/1495477) Although it's undeniably industrial in its materials and manufacturing, there is a beauty and delicacy to the Kakabel light which itself brightens up the atmosphere of its surrounding interior setting. From the side you may remark a cluster of four tapering metal tubes, but as you approach the elegant suspended piece from below, the detail of a complex corolla shines out around a conical pistil. A smoldering silver coats the outside of the hanging lamp and a gleaming white is found within. LED lights are embedded in finned black fixtures which cast shadows deep into the floral form. An electric blue glow escapes subtly down through the Kakabel light giving it vivid dimension, though primarily Ken Dunard directed this vibrant tint upwards to offer ambient light on the ceiling. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Industrial-beauty Hybrid:** There is a growing trend of blending industrial materials with delicate aesthetics to create visually stunning products. - **Futuristic Lighting Designs:** The Kakabel light exemplifies the trend of futuristic lighting designs that incorporate unique shapes and innovative use of materials. - **Ambient Lighting with a Twist:** The integration of LED lights and vibrant tints in pendant lamps like the Kakabel light offers a new take on ambient lighting. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Innovative pendant lamp designs like the Kakabel light are driving the need for creative and visually appealing interior design solutions. - **Lighting Fixture Manufacturing:** The demand for unique and visually striking lighting fixtures, such as the Kakabel light, presents opportunities for manufacturers to develop cutting-edge products. - **LED Technology:** The use of LED lights in innovative pendant lamps like the Kakabel light highlights the need for advancements in LED technology for more versatile and energy-efficient lighting solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Plant Pod-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-inspired-pendant-light.md) - [Ultra-Customized Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kala-lamp.md) - [Plant-Inspired Dynamic Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier.md) - [Floral Lighting Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pivoine.md) - [Petal-Inspired Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light.md) - [Metal Thread Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp.md) - [Blooming Paper Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kazuhiro-yamanaka-tsubomi-lamp.md) - [Exquisite Textured Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendant-lamp1.md) - [Encapsulated Semi-Transparent Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nested-pendant-light.md)
