Although still full of bold strokes, movement and a gorgeous focus on lighting, Justin Gaffrey's work blurs the line between [paintings and sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pure-exhibition) by adding a dimension of texture that makes the art jump right out at its audience. Working with pure acrylic paints, Justin Gaffrey, a one time chef and restauranteur, essentially sculpts with paint. As written on his website, "He credits a viewing of Van Gogh’s 'Sunflowers' as the epiphany that sent him searching for a medium and a technique that would allow him to achieve the [deeply textured, multi-dimensional work](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-scad) he crafts today." Utterly enthralling, his work can be seen in galleries across the United States. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Texture Artworks:** The addition of texture to artworks blurs the line between paintings and sculptures, creating an immersive experience for the audience. - **Impressionist Sculptures:** Justin Gaffrey's use of texture in impressionist art brings a new dimension to the traditional art form, creating captivating sculptures that showcase movement and lighting. - **Multi-dimensional Paintings:** Justin Gaffrey's technique of using deeply textured, multi-dimensional paint creates dynamic and visually striking artworks. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art Galleries:** Art galleries can showcase Justin Gaffrey's unique texture artworks, providing visitors with a captivating and immersive artistic experience. - **Fine Art:** The addition of texture to fine art paintings and sculptures opens up new possibilities for artists to experiment and innovate in their creative expressions. - **Home Decor:** The use of texture in paintings and sculptures by Justin Gaffrey can inspire home decor trends that bring a tactile and visually engaging element to interior design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Reimagined Impressionist Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impressionist-paintings.md) - [Abstract Geometric Solo Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impermanent-state-of-being.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Oil Painting-Inspired Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antonio-santn.md) - [Geometric Wooden Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aleph-geddis.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md)
