# Heroic Dollar Bill Remixes Aslan Malik Turns Past Presidents Into Justice League Characters By Jonathon Brown | Published 2013-01-10 | World Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/justice-league-characters References: [stupiddope](http://stupiddope.com/2013/01/09/justice-league-of-dead-presidents-by-artist-aslan-malik/justice-league-of-dead-presidents-7/) & [mr-malik.de](http://www.mr-malik.de/) The Justice League characters now literally have a dollar value attached to their likeness after Berlin-based artist Aslan Malik adorned [American currency notes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eroded-coin) with their images. American money is one of the most used currencies in the world and has also been the subject of more than one conspiracy theory. Now that Malik has colored over top of past presidents, maybe it will spur a new superhero conspiracy theory wave. Malik turned President Abraham Lincoln into [Flash](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-flash), while Ben Franklin became Green Lantern and Alexander Hamilton morphed into [Batman](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-x-blvck-collection). The art has a graffiti sensibility and is rough around the edges but the point is clear. This is an interesting project when you consider Malik effectively turned American politicians into superheros, something that the mythology of American history seems to do all the time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Regional](https://www.trendhunter.com/regional) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Crypto Art:** Security-conscious and crypto-conscious artists can use cryptocurrencies in their art pieces while also keeping their privacy intact. - **Pop Culture Remixed:** Artists can create new and engaging ways to display pop culture figures by remixing famous historical figures with fictional characters. - **Artistic Currency:** Artists can repurpose existing currencies to create new art, or create their own currencies and monetize their artworks through NFTs and other digital tokens. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can use various mediums to turn old and outdated objects into new and engaging works of art, like turning currency notes into superheroes. - **Currency and Finance:** The use of cryptocurrency and digital tokens can disrupt traditional ways of utilizing and investing in currency by offering new ways of monetizing and collecting value for art pieces. - **Pop Culture:** Pop culture influences and references can be utilized in art and design to create new and exciting pieces that capture interest and spark conversation, like mixing superheroes with past American presidents on currency notes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Superhero-Themed DIY Art Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman.md) - [Fictional Wizard Collectible Coins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harry-potter-collection-1.md) - [Beloved Cartoon-Inspired Coins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bluey-coins.md) - [Reimagined Beloved Character Comics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marvel-and-disney.md) - [Satirical Popsicle Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eat-the-rich-popsicles.md) - [Inflation-Themed Lighters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moneylighter.md) - [Comic Book Hero Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comic-book-heros.md) - [Vote-Encouraging Coin Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electoral-coins.md) - [Phygital Trading Cards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dc-hybrid-trading-cards.md)
