# Snow-Inspired Sofas Junpei Tamaki Design Makes the Thaw Sofa to Resemble Winter By Jamie Danielle Munro | Published 2014-04-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junpei-tamaki References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/design/junpei-tamaki-design-frozen-snow-thaw-sofa-04-11-2014/) & [junpei-tamaki](http://www.junpei-tamaki.com/english/index.html) Junpei Tamaki Design studio has created a distinct sofa that resembles [fluffy snow](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillo-sofa) in the winter months. Almost the entire chair is white, with a [wooden edge](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/press-armchair) surrounding the back and front seating area. When the winter analogy is made clear, it's hard not to picture this piece of furniture as a snowflake in the cold. The central part of the chair is [extremely fluffy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-pillo), so that when users sit down they sink right in. Considering this is exactly what happens when people fall into a snowdrift, Junpei Tamaki Design was pretty accurate in achieving this snow-like effect. For anyone missing the winter months in certain parts of the world, this chair could provide an extra bit of comfort.
