# Page-Composed Pines The New Book Tree by Juniper Books is in its Second Edition By John Ibbitson | Published 2011-12-16 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juniper-books References: [juniperbooks](http://juniperbooks.com/christmas-tree-of-books-2011/) & [juniperbooks](http://juniperbooks.com) Juniper Books has done it again with the new Christmas tree design for 2011 made entirely out of books. This year’s mild olive-green creation is more subtle than the 7-foot tree the company crafted last year of bright, green-colored books and is more scholarly too, as it is made from cut, re-purposed law books. The new tree stands 1 foot taller than the previous model at 8 feet spread over seven shelves -- eight shelves if you include its red star topper -- and is about the size of a real seasonal spruce. It also comes finely decorated with [Christmas baubles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-christmas-ornament) and working lights that festively hang form the tree and make it truly sparkle in dim light, creating the perfect holiday atmosphere for any room. This romantic alternative to a real tree would look marvelous in a study, office or living room. It also makes for a splendid addition to your existing seasonal décor. So if you’re looking to draw some extra attention to your [reading collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-tiny-house) over the holidays, why not add some literary, festive flair to your bookcase with this [book Christmas tree](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personalized-christmas-book) from Juniper Books? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Eco-friendly Decor:** There is an opportunity for designers to integrate sustainable materials and upcycle old products into beautiful decor items like these book trees. - **Book Art:** Juniper Books has revived the trend of book art that has been gaining popularity in recent years, with an opportunity for artists to create unique sculptures from old books. - **Functional Decor:** The book tree serves not just as an artistic decoration but can also function as a bookshelf, showcasing a collection of books in a beautiful, eye-catching manner. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry has an opportunity to explore sustainable, functional, and artistic products to cater to a growing environmentally conscious and aesthetically inclined consumer base. - **Upcycling:** The upcycling industry can benefit from the rising trend of using repurposed materials to create functional and decorative products that appeal to eco-friendly and design savvy consumers. - **Book Publishing:** Book publishers can explore the intersection of literature, art, and design to create visually stunning editions of classic and contemporary works that go beyond just the written word. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pop-Up Holiday Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-minute-christmas-trees.md) - [Tree-Like Library Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-of-knowledge.md) - [Cutout Christmas Tree Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christmas-tree-display.md) - [Christmas-Themed USB Keys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psb-xmas-tree.md) - [Festive Bamboo Tissues Papers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stackatree.md) - [Plastic Bottle-Made Christmas Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caroline-chaptini.md) - [Illuminated Christmas Tree Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-lit-up.md) - [Minimalist Greenery Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-propagation-bookend.md) - [Farm-Sourced Christmas Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fraser-fir-christmas-tree.md)
