Judson Beaumont has designed a [hollow-bodied chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunks-and-blocks) that's more than just about design aesthetics; there's a practicality to it. The lower half of the body is completely empty and offers additional space to hold items. This can fit stuffed toys, books or anything that needs to be put away. The hollow body also gives the armchair the ability to blend in its environment making it complementary to just about any home. It's a simple chair that primarily puts a focus on practicality over visual eye-candy. This is a clever design that will be useful in any home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Multi-functional Furniture:** By combining seating and storage, there is an opportunity for furniture designers to create innovative and space-saving solutions. - **Practical Design:** Designing furniture with practicality in mind allows for the creation of products that serve a dual purpose and enhance functionality. - **Versatile Home Decor:** Versatility in furniture design allows for seamless integration into any home environment, providing flexibility and aesthetic appeal. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can explore the concept of hollow-bodied loungers and create a new niche for multi-functional and practical furniture. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate hollow-bodied loungers into their design plans to maximize space and offer clients functional and stylish seating options. - **Home Organization:** The home organization industry can leverage the idea of hollow-bodied loungers to develop storage solutions that seamlessly integrate into different areas of the home. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hollow Multipurpose Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tailor-armchair.md) - [Storage-Attached Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-chair.md) - [Antitheft Storage Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afford-chair.md) - [Cozy Storage-Focused Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pocket-chair.md) - [Striking Storage-Friendly Poufs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/berliner-pouf.md) - [Storage-Friendly Origami Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kerf.md) - [Dual-Function Seating Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubik-stool.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Dual-Sided Storage Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bond-stool-system.md)
