Apparently the Army is testing one just like it. Although they call it the 'Judge Dredd' gun, the weapon is officially called the XM-25 Individual Air Burst Weapon. It's got the look, but what about the specs? This weapon has a laser range finder and precision-timed grenades; it's built to fire armor-piercing, door-breaching, anti-personnel and less-than-lethal rounds. In a nutshell, enemies are in trouble even when they're not in the line of fire. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Laser-guided Weapons:** Incorporating laser range finders and precision-timed grenades can revolutionize the military weapons industry. - **Versatile Firearms:** Creating weapons that can fire various types of rounds, like armor-piercing, door-breaching, anti-personnel, and less-than-lethal rounds can lead the market for more versatile firearms. - **Futuristic Weapons:** Developing firearms that look and perform like they were taken straight from a science-fiction movie or comic book can be the new standard for futuristic weaponry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Military Equipment:** Innovating new types of weapons with advanced technology can help establish the military equipment industry as leaders in the field. - **Law Enforcement:** Creating versatile and less-lethal firearms can shape the future of non-lethal crowd control and self-defense for law enforcement agencies. - **Entertainment:** Making weapons inspired by popular comic book and sci-fi franchises can cater to the entertainment industry's demand for life-like props and merchandise. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi Foam Dart Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ee3-blaster.md) - [Gel Pellet Toy Guns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hasbro-1.md) - [Adult-Targeted Foam Disc Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disc-blaster.md) - [Compact Gel Capsule Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nerf-pro-gelfire-legion-blaster.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Foam Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nerf-x-destiny-gjallarhorn-blaster.md) - [4-in-1 Gel Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unlocx-gel-blaster.md) - [Creator-Backed Toy Guns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mrbeast.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Dart Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nerf-lmtd-halo-needler.md) - [Synchronous Firing Water Guns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/synchronous-firing-water-gun.md)
