# Satirical Skeletal Street Art The Horrific Congregate in the Maldito Juanito Street Art By | Published 2013-05-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juanito-street-art References: [malditojuanito.tumblr](http://malditojuanito.tumblr.com/) The Maldito Juanito street art comes from an artist from Geneva with a penchant for the grisly and the gruesome. He has produced some absolutely stunning street art featuring [skeletal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exoskyn), zombie-like figures engaging in very human activities, such as receiving flowers, riding motorcycles and even "canoodling." Each subject is uncanny. It's something we've seen before, but never in this particularly odd way. The zombie-skeletons display human emotions, but their brightly tinted skin tones and gaping eye holes kind of turn those emotions on their heads to deliver the kind of shivers I'm sure the main character in 'The Sixth Sense' felt when he saw dead people. Juanito's vibrant colours and [graphic novel-esque painting style](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-kiss-at-last-light) both serve to make these street art creations eerie and eye-catching. Juanito Street Art is sure to take the world by storm, while simultaneously depicting the world's destruction -- now that's irony. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Graffiti](https://www.trendhunter.com/graffiti) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Satirical Street Art:** There's an opportunity for visual artists to create street art that is capable of making people laugh or take note of important social issues while beautifying the environment. - **Intersection of Horror and Innocence:** There's an opportunity for filmmakers and other creatives to explore the concept of juxtaposition by blending contrasting themes such as horror and innocence for greater aesthetic bliss. - **The Rise of Skeletal Art:** There is an opportunity for artists to study the skeletal system and create minimalist interpretations of the human anatomy. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Graphic Design:** With the increasing popularity of street art and an increase in demand for visually engaging content, there is an opportunity for graphic designers to create unique digital and print designs for public consumption. - **Entertainment:** There's an opportunity for entertainment companies to produce horror-comedies that blend laughter with suspenseful horror elements. - **Product Advertising:** There's an opportunity for advertisers to incorporate skeletons or other horror motifs to create attention-grabbing designs in product advertisements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Raunchy Anime-Inspired Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manuela-soto-sosa.md) - [Surreal Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Neo-Mexican Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/para-morelio.md) - [Celebrational Beer Can Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modelo.md) - [Miniature Artful Hip-Hop Landmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/danny-cortes.md)
