No longer can you blame your low scores on faulty touchscreen inputs as this [smartphone joystick](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ohsnap-mcon) gives users intuitive precision rivaling that of console controllers. The current JOYSTICK-IT Arcade Stick model is actually a smaller version of an existing ThinkGeek JOYSTICK-IT Arcade Stick, but with the reduction in size also comes a reduction in cost (from $24.99 to $17.99). It's made from solid milled-aluminum and features a laser-etched crosshair design on the top of the joystick for extra thumb grippage. You can take off this smartphone add-on and reposition it at will without any harm to your iPhone screen, and it's compatible with thousands of games. Sounds like a game changer to me! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Smartphone Gaming Controllers:** The rise of smartphone gaming has opened up an opportunity for companies to develop innovative gaming controllers that improve user experience. - **Milled-aluminum Accessories:** The use of milled-aluminum in the production of smartphone accessories creates an opportunity for companies to position themselves as premium quality providers and differentiate from competitors. - **Ergonomic Design:** As consumers demand more comfortable and intuitive gaming experiences, ergonomic design presents an opportunity for companies to innovate and create new products. ### Who This Affects Most - **Gaming Accessories:** As the gaming industry continues to grow, innovation in gaming accessories such as controllers presents an opportunity for businesses to capitalize on the expanding market. - **Mobile Phone Accessories:** As smartphones dominate the market, mobile phone accessories such as gaming controllers become more of a necessity, opening up new markets for businesses to sell their products. - **Consumer Electronics:** As consumer demand for smartphone gaming accessories increases, companies in the electronics industry have an opportunity to develop innovative products and gain a competitive advantage in the market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Branded Smartphone Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/turtle-beach-iphone-atom.md) - [Micro Smartphone Gamepad Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/8bitdo-mobile-clip.md) - [Arcade-Style Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octopus-arcade-stick.md) - [Console-Style Smartphone Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamesir-g8-galileo.md) - [Telescoping Smartphone Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elo-vagabond.md) - [Mappable Mobile Gamer Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultimate-mobile-gaming-controller.md) - [Retro-Inspired Smartphone Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamesir-pocket-taco.md) - [Retro Gaming Smartphone Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soolra.md) - [Smartphone-Like Gaming Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-arcade-pro.md)
