# Cantilevered Forest Villas 'Joya Villas' Sit in the Tropical Forests of Costa Rica By Joey Haar | Published 2018-02-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joya-villas References: [archdaily](https://www.archdaily.com/889500/joya-villas-studio-saxe) If there were a paradise, it would end up being something that at least remotely resembles Costa Rica, and [Joya Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joya-1) are two homes that make the most of the natural beauty that the country offers. Designed by [Studio Saxe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-solai), the homes aim to thrust those living in them out in the environment, as they feature [cantilevered balconies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/westview-residence) that hang out over the surrounding forests. Another of the key features of the Joya Villas is the swimming pool on the patio. The pool has an infinity edge, which gives those swimming the impression of swimming in a natural body of wonder sitting in the middle of the jungle. Though the Joya Villas both have boxy, modern designs, their balconies and patios clearly show that the residences are in tune with the Costa Rican forests.
