Joseph Curtatone mayor of Somerville, Massachusetts, recently unveiled the [world's tiniest museum](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miniverse-make-it-mini-spaces). Union Square's latest addition features the work of New England artists, and only cost a pittance. In an interesting move, the press release following the opening ceremony promised to spend even less on the arts.

The micro-museum measures 10 inches tall, 16 inches wide and 8 inches deep. The [miniature gallery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/numu-boutique-hotel) opened in response to the complaint that local artists were not being showcased enough. However, city officials such as Joseph Curtatone struggled to meet this demand due to a lack of available space.

The Museum is powered by a [solar panel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naoshima-new-museum-of-art), does not cost rent or employee salaries. Admission to the puny art space is also free.
