The artist depicts couples in intimate moments, featuring close-up shots of faces in a way that is abstract but accurate. The technique that Jose Rivas uses for this series involves a series of short, [multicolored brush strokes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eye-stylus-shadow-stick) that look similar to smudges. The result is reminiscent of a mosaic made of various [abstract shapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/devin-wilde). This technique achieves a unique look in Jose Rivas' work, with lots of texture and eye-catching color. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Multicolored Brush Strokes:** Exploring innovative techniques using multicolored brush strokes can create unique and eye-catching artwork. - **Abstract Intimacy:** Exploring the concept of abstract intimacy in art can lead to new ways of portraying relationships and emotions. - **Mosaic-like Art:** Utilizing mosaic-like techniques can result in visually engaging and textured artwork. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can embrace innovative brush stroke techniques and explore new concepts of intimacy and abstraction. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can offer unique and eye-catching art pieces inspired by vibrant brush stroke techniques and abstract intimacy. - **Art Education:** The art education sector can incorporate lessons on mosaic-like techniques to inspire students and explore new dimensions in creativity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Love-Inspired Miniature Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-in-a-bottle.md) - [Color Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profiles-in-color.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Human Duality-Themed Abstract Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passive-aggression.md) - [Evolved Vibrant Graffiti Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jan-kalb.md)
